ADHD symptoms appear in other disorders

Days after recording FA Episode 13, Anatomy of ADHD, this report came out of Germany: Professor Andreas Warnke, from the German Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy, believes that other illnesses should be ruled out before beginning treatment for ADHD. Learning disabilities, psychotic disorder, and substance abuse may all have an impact on attention span. He also noted that depression, anxiety, or tics should be considered when planning treatment.
