Get out of your cave this winter!

This is a great Ontario, Canada website that looks at different activities that families can focus on throughout the winter months both indoors and outdoors. Often families will tend to stay indoors and hibernate, however, to beat the winter blues and blahs these various activities and tips can be interesting alternatives.

Editor's Note by Dr. Brian MacDonald: The site includes suggestions for both indoor and outdoor activities that aren't limited to places in Ontario, such as:

  1. building snow mazes
  2. creating snowman family portraits
  3. playing softball in the snow.

Better yet, there are tips for energy-building snacks and meals and safety suggestions. I'm thinking about a tobogganing trip this weekend! If you have suggestions for outdoor (or indoor) activities that can help families beat the winter blues, leave a comment.
