Handedness and spelling

Good readers who are able to break down the sounds in words can still be poor spellers. The May issue of Cortex has an article about kids who make phonetic spelling errors – those who spell words the way they sound.

Researchers at the School of Psychology of Leicester, UK, found that this group of poor spellers are more likely to be right-handed.
